Poland just received the final 12 of the first 212 K9A1 self-propelled howitzers ordered from South Korea. In the second batch, Poland will receive another 152 howitzers of which 146 units will be K9PL variants (Polonized/adapted for Polish requirements, including integration of Polish subsystems like communication and fire control systems). Full local production in Poland is planned for another 308 K9PL howitzers Poland plans to buy but hasn’t signed contract ms yet for. In total, Poland plans to operate 672 K9 howitzers. The Polish is also in possession of around 60 domestically-produced Krab self-propelled howitzers and is in the process buying another 152. In total, Poland will have nearly 900 top-modern 155 mm self-propelled howitzers, forming Europe’s largest self-propelled artillery force.
